These 1 lb sticks are approximately 1 inch in diameter and 21 inches long. Fitting them into a side by side refrigerator/freezer can be a challenge due to their long length, but they do thaw quickly, so folding them in half once they are just soft enough and putting them back into your freezer is a great solution if that is an issue. They do easily fit in the door shelves of most upright freezers. The plastic tube is sealed on one end, and folded over on the other end.
A big benefit to the sticks is that they thaw very quickly because of their thin diameter. It's easiest to score the plastic with a sharp blade when completely frozen solid, then peel back and remove the plastic completely. Then snap the stick into smaller pieces and put them into a plastic container with a lid into your refrigerator to thaw.
